Cyber Security Scholarship

  • The Cyber Security Scholarship, provided through partnership with SANS Institute, is awarded annually to up to up to three students from a rural community anywhere in the United States. The scholarship provides a $1,000 cash award for education expenses along with the opportunity to take up to 2 SANS training courses and the two corresponding GIAC certification exams. These certifications are highly desirable by employers and provide a jumpstart towards a career in cyber security.

    To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must be planning to attend college to pursue a degree in a computer technology related field, with a focus on security. This scholarship is awarded based upon answers to a series of essay questions that are designed to gauge the student’s passion for security and insight into the field, as well as the student’s sense of citizenship and pride in their rural community. You must have grown up in or attended high school in a rural area to be eligible for this scholarship.

Judith A Sanders Memorial Scholarship

  • The Judith A. Sanders Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student from the rural community of Graves County in Western Kentucky.

    In order to be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must currently be attending Graves County High School or Mayfield High School as a senior. The student must also be planning to attend college to pursue a degree in a computer technology related field. This scholarship is awarded based upon answers to a series of essay questions that are designed to gauge the student’s passion for his or her intended career in computer technology as well as the student’s sense of citizenship and pride in their rural community.

Kentucky Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) Scholarship

  • The Kentucky Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) Scholarship is open to students from schools in Kentucky who have a passion for using technical skills to make a positive social change in the world or at home in their communities.

    In order to be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must currently be attending a rural high school as a senior in the state of Kentucky and be an active member of their schools STLP. Additionally, the student must also be planning to attend college to pursue a degree in a computer technology related field. This scholarship is awarded based upon answers to a series of essay questions that are designed to gauge the student’s passion for his or her intended career in computer technology as well as the student’s sense of citizenship and pride in their rural community.
