SANS Institute Classes Now Provided for Rural Cyber Security Scholarship Winners

Thanks to a contribution from the SANS Institute, the RTF’s Cyber Security Scholarship now includes two SANS cyber security training courses and corresponding GIAC certification exams to help the scholarship recipients jumpstart their careers.

Starting this year, the recipients of our Cyber Security Scholarship will receive a major boost! SANS Institute is generously contributing two free training courses and GIAC certification exams to each scholarship recipient. These benefits are additions to the existing $1,000 cash award. The RTF Cyber Security Scholarship is awarded annually to up to three students from rural communities who are planning to attend college to pursue a degree in a computer technology-related field, with a focus on security.

We’re excited to bring the additional benefit of SANS courses to recipients of our Rural Cyber Security Scholarship. Exposure to high-quality industry training is hard to come by for rural students. Our partnership with SANS helps further reduce barriers to STEM careers for these students.
