Through DonorsChoose.org, the RTF sent Raspberry Pi kits to a rural classroom in Michigan.

A note from the teacher:

Dear Rural Technology Fund,

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my computer science program. I can’t wait to show the students the possibilities they have to create with a Raspberry Pi.

By having Raspberry Pi’s in the classroom students will be able to explore computing, and to learn how to program in languages like Scratch and Python. It’s capable of doing everything you’d expect a desktop computer to do, from browsing the internet and playing high-definition video, to making spreadsheets, word-processing, and playing games.
